Last week SCA (Vic) participated in a workshop to assist DELWP comprehensive review of Victoria’s building regulatory framework. The workshop focused on mapping the development lifecycle of a building – from planning and design to construction and occupancy – and understanding the key issues, gaps, risks and reform opportunities across the regulatory system and included stakeholders from every stage of the cycle.
The lack of consistency of document management and handover featured consistently across each stage. SCA (Vic) was again able to provide the link to the Building Confidence report and SCA’s call for action for a regulated Building Manual to be handed over with the Occupancy Permit to the new owners.
