SCA is delivering on its Six Steps to Ensure Confidence – our commitment to raising standards, improving practice and reinforcing confidence in the strata sector that we enacted in March 2024.

Completing another two of the Six Steps, SCA announced Stephen Phillips as the new independent Chair of the body that handles complaints against SCA members and SCA's Best Practice Insurance Disclosure Guide came into force for all SCA members on 30 June 2024.

SCA is also excited to announce Joshua Baldwin as it next President. Read Joshua’s full remarks as he embarks this new challenge here.

Welcome To
Strata Community Association
Victoria

Strata Community Association Victoria SCA (VIC) is the pre-eminent member-based association for the Victorian Owners Corporation industry. SCA (VIC) was formed in 1990 to provide advocacy, support, advice and promotion, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

SCA (VIC) members are BLA Registered professional Owners Corporations Managers, regulated by the Owners Corporations Act 2006 and its Regulations. They empower Lot Owners and occupiers, assure compliance with insurance, Essential Safety Measures (ESM) and OH&S, coordinate building and common property maintenance.

The Code of Professional Conduct raises the bar to maintain ethical standards and members are held accountable through a robust complaints process.

Members benefit from access to the Standard Contract of Appointment, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), training and education, Best Practice Guidelines on regulatory and legislative amendments, updates on VCAT determinations and all emerging issues.

SCA (VIC) is the only organisation solely focussed on representing the strata property sector. As a result of the exponential rise in strata living due to lifestyle choices and population growth, 1 in 4 Victorians are living in or affected by Owners Corporations.

There are currently over 85,000 active Owners Corporations in Victoria, covering more than 772,000 individual lots.

SCA (VIC) represents more than 80% of all professional owners corporation managers, with almost 800 members.

It also represents industry suppliers including Essential Safety Measures managers, quantity surveyors, insurers, lawyers, accountants, facility managers, property valuers, building maintenance and tradespeople.
