SCA (Vic)’s advocacy agenda is the strategic foundation that guides our efforts to influence legislation, public policy, and decision-making across the strata sector in Victoria. Each year, the Advocacy Advisory Committee—comprised of experienced members from across the strata profession—develops and recommends a focused agenda for approval by the SCA (Vic) Board. This agenda ensures that the issues we pursue reflect the priorities of our members, the needs of the industry, and the goals of our Strategic Plan. The advocacy agenda identifies key areas for reform, monitors upcoming legislation, and proactively sets out initiatives to support better outcomes for strata communities.
The Committee’s work includes:
- Recommending targeted policy positions and responses to government consultations and public inquiries
- Identifying opportunities to promote or defend the interests of strata professionals, owners corporations, and lot owners
- Advising on stakeholder engagement strategies and preparing content for high-level meetings
- Highlighting areas where member education or industry resources may be required in response to legislative change
Our agenda is dynamic and responsive, allowing SCA (Vic) to act quickly on emerging issues while also progressing long-term sector reforms. It aligns with our goal to improve the operation and reputation of the strata property industry in Victoria and to ensure that our members’ voices are heard at every level of government.
